Wife of Pulse Nightclub Terrorist Declared Not Guilty – Avoids Life in Prison

Noor Salman has avoided life in prison after a jury Friday morning declared her not guilty and acquitted her on charges of obstruction and providing material support to a terrorist organization, ABC News reports. Salman’s husband shot to death 49 people, mostly LGBT and people of color, at Florida’s Pulse nightclub in 2016.
Prosecutors argued she had helped her husband, Omar Mateen, prepare for what was at the time the nation’s worst mass shooting in modern history, and remains the nation’s deadliest hate crime.
But her defense attorneys claimed she was abused and had “married a monster.”
