This Disclosure Policy is effective as of February 15, 2011.

1. Type of site

This site is a collaborative blog written by a group of individuals (“We” or “Us.”)

This Disclosure Policy is effective as of February 15, 2011. We expressly reserve the right to change this Disclosure Policy from time to time without notice to you. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this site and this Disclosure Policy from time to time and to familiarize yourself with any modifications. Your continued use of this site after such modifications will constitute acknowledgement of the modified Disclosure Policy.

2. Compensation

This blog accepts forms of paid cash advertising, sponsorship, paid insertions or other forms of compensation.

The owner of this blog reserves the right to be compensated in exchange for providing opinion on products, services, websites and various other topics. Even though the owner of this blog might receive compensation, in the form of cash, goods, or services for our posts or advertisements, we always give our honest opinions, findings, beliefs, or experiences on those topics or products. The views and opinions expressed on this blog are purely the bloggers’ own. Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer, provider or party in question.

In reality, we have never received compensation in exchange for providing opinion on products, services, websites and various other topics, but we sure would be happy if you’d like to try.

3. Advertising & content

This site abides by word of mouth marketing standards. We believe in honesty of relationship, opinion and identity. The compensation received may influence the advertising content, topics or posts made in this blog. That content, advertising space or post may not always be identified as paid or sponsored content. That said, we strive to maintain a strict wall between advertising and editorial. It should be noted, however, that some outgoing links found in content, such as links for books, may be directed to sites such as, and we may benefit financially from purchases made via those links. We do not and will not review or advertise a product or service solely as a means of receiving financial gain. We may accept tickets or a copy of a book so that we can review a work, or so we can offer them as prizes for contests, etc.

We also refuse to accept advertising that does not meet our standards, in appearance, content, or offering. For example, we have refused advertising from lobbyists advocating for issues with which we do not agree, and for services which focus on or present themselves as focusing on behavior we find objectionable.

Additionally, the editor of The New Civil Rights Movement, David Badash, was also the editor of the book, “Playing By The Rules,” and Justin Elzie, the author of “Playing By The Rules” is a contributor to The New Civil Rights Movement. The book Playing By The Rules is mentioned from time to time here, and is advertised here as well.

4. Conflicts of interest

This blog does not contain any content which we believe might present a conflict of interest.
