President Donald Trump is still trying to prove his tweet claiming Alabama was in the path of Hurricane Dorian wasn’t false, and he just went to extraordinary lengths to perpetuate his lie. The only problem now: it turns out he now may have broken the law.
On Sunday Trump posted this erroneous tweet:
In addition to Florida – South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama, will most likely be hit (much) harder than anticipated. Looking like one of the largest hurricanes ever. Already category 5. BE CAREFUL! GOD BLESS EVERYONE!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 1, 2019
After news reports pointed out that Alabama was not, in fact, in the path of Hurricane Dorian, the National Weather Service was forced to issue what amounted to a correction.
— NWS Birmingham (@NWSBirmingham) September 1, 2019
Trump went berserk.
….when in fact, under certain original scenarios, it was in fact correct that Alabama could have received some “hurt.” Always good to be prepared! But the Fake News is only interested in demeaning and belittling. Didn’t play my whole sentence or statement. Bad people!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 2, 2019
Still not satisfied, Trump on Wednesday held a press event – and held up a doctored weather map supposedly from the National Weather Service – with black marker extending the path of the hurricane into Alabama.
It was an obvious fake. (NCRM has added a red arrow in the photo above to show the faked black markered area of the doctored map.)
On Twitter, many responded, including those in the know, with the fact that the President may have committed a federal crime:

Weather expert Dennis Mersereau:
It is a violation of federal law to falsify a National Weather Service forecast and pass it off as official, as President Trump did here.
— Dennis Mersereau (@wxdam) September 4, 2019
Here’s the text of the federal code that clearly shows Trump seems to have committed a crime:
“Whoever knowingly issues or publishes any counterfeit weather forecast or warning of weather conditions falsely representing such forecast or warning to have been issued or published by the Weather Bureau, United States Signal Service, or other branch of the Government service, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ninety days, or both.”

‘Just Not True’: CNBC Reporter Destroys Trump’s Latest ‘Outlandish’ Lies – Like Ivanka ‘Created 14 Million Jobs’
“Pretty much everything he has said is nonsense.”
President Donald Trump is being called out for his lies after giving a speech at the Economic Club of New York in which he offered up stunning untruths. Among them, his daughter Ivanka Trump has created 14 million jobs, and that his administration “has launched an economic boom the likes of which we have never seen before.”
Here’s Trump absurdly claiming his daughter Ivanka has “created 14 million jobs.”
“14 million and going up,” he adds. pic.twitter.com/7E8uSEgjtL

Trump was scorched for those lies and others by CNBC editor-at-large John Harwood, an expert financial and political reporter.
Among the other lies Trump told Tuesday, he has created over 7 million jobs,
Harwood told MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle that “with respect to Ivanka, Trump is talking abut pledges she is collecting from companies to train people.”
“It’s a far cry from a pledge on a piece of paper to a job created. It is true that more than 6 million jobs have been created [Trump claimed 7 million “and going up,”] since Donald Trump was elected – however that is a slower rate of growth” than the comparable period during President Obama’s second term.
Wages “haven’t come up very much,” Harwood also countered.
Harwood also said “that;’s just not true” of Trump’s claim that family income is up $6000 annually over Obama’s $900.
Harwood took to Twitter to further his remarks.
on Trump’s false claim of historic economic boom:
1. on annual basis growth reached 2.9% in 2018 – same as 2015 under Obama
2. on 4-quarter basis Trump’s top growth rate is 3.2% from 2017-18 Q2; Obama’s was 3.98% from Q1 2014-15
3. unemployment now lower, but so is job growth

‘Time Out!’: CNN Anchor Forced to Repeatedly Cut Off Prominent Trump Defender for Blurting Lies About Impeachment
A battle broke out between “New Day” host Alisyn Camerota and conservative Matt Schlapp over impeachment Friday morning with the CNN host having to repeatedly cut off the Donald Trump defender and call him out on lies and misrepresentations about the proceedings.
Appearing on the panel with CNN commentator Ana Navarro, Schlapp continually claimed there was no reason to impeach Donald Trump because, as he claimed, he had committed no crimes which led Camerota to have to explain that impeachment is not limited to actual criminal wrongdoing.
Things got off on the wrong foot after Schlapp stated, ” [House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi has said all along that she wouldn’t move on starting an impeachment process unless it would be overwhelming bipartisan and let’s face it, that’s not where it is in the House of Representatives,” only to have the CNN host cut him off with, “Fact check: she didn’t say overwhelmingly bipartisan.”
Undeterred, Schlapp continually spoke over the host with White House spin, at one point throwing Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) under the bus over his critical comments about the president’s wrongdoing.
“When I say we had a good day,” Schlapp said of Thursday’s impeachment vote, “It’s not because it is good that the Democrats, and only Democrats want to impeach the president. I actually think what is good about it, if there are no crimes and if they don’t come forward with articles that show any criminality.”
“It doesn’t have to be a crime,” the host reminded him.
“You got to talk for two straight minutes, Alisyn, let me talk,” the conservative insisted.
“Don’t misuse information,” Camerota warned.
“I’m not lying, name one lie,” he fired back. “If you think there is a crime, you give me the code right now. Give me the code. What’s the crime? Don’t say I’m lying.”
“It doesn’t have to be a crime, you know that,” she tried to explain. “Why don’t you hear the video of Lindsey Graham saying over and over again–”
“Lindsey Graham is wrong,” he blurted while talking over her. “He isn’t one of the Founding Fathers and he is a great guy and all but he didn’t write the Constitution.”
GOP Lawmaker Faceplants After CNN Host Asks How He’d Feel About Obama Demanding Ukraine Investigate Mitt Romney
Rep. Tom Reed (R-NY) on Tuesday found himself getting tripped up by CNN’s Brianna Keilar after she asked him what his reaction would be if former President Barack Obama had withheld foreign aid to a country to pressure it to investigate former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
During his interview with Keilar, Reed brushed aside the testimony of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, who claimed that President Donald Trump damaged American national security by asking Ukraine to launch an investigation of his political opponents.
Keilar then asked Reed if he would have been okay with former President Obama withholding aid to foreign countries unless they agreed to investigate Romney.
“Well, I think President Obama did hold up aid on numerous occasions, is my understanding of foreign aid during his tenure as president,” Reed replied.
“Asking a country to investigate Mitt Romney?” an incredulous Keilar asked.
“You know, I don’t know what happened between Joe Biden and Obama in, er, regards to the investigation of Hunter Biden and his corrupt activity in Ukraine,” Reed replied.
“That’s actually not true,” Keilar shot back.
