50,000+ Sign Petition to Make Donald Trump’s Home Address ‘President Barack H. Obama Avenue’

Published

on

More than 50,000 people have signed a petition urging the City of New York to change the strip of Fifth Avenue in front of Trump Tower to President Barack H. Obama Avenue.

The petition at MoveOn.org, a progressive public policy advocacy group, notes the City of Los Angeles recently honored former President Barack Obama by renaming a portion of a Downtown L.A.  freeway in his honor.

“We request the New York City Mayor and City Council do the same by renaming a block of Fifth Avenue after the former president whose many accomplishments include: saving our nation from the Great Recession; serving two completely scandal-free terms in office; and taking out Osama bin Laden, the mastermind behind September 11th.”

Comments from some recent signers offer an insight in to their motivations.

“Make the other street Senator McCain”

“Wish Obama could run again”

“The tenants could at least have an honorable name in their address to offset the dishonorable name on their building.”

“New Yorker, here… Make this happen!”

“Thank You President Obama! #ImpeachTrump”

“Greatest president in modern history!”

The petition has been receiving more attention on social media after someone tweeted out its existence on Saturday. It’s now receiving much more attention.

The petition, which has been online since at least December 2018, will need to be around for a long time. 6sqft, citing The New-York Historical Society and an official NYC Media office, reports that among the prerequisites for getting a street renamed to honor someone, “the honoree must no longer be living.”

Trump Tried to Launch #StopTheCoup on Twitter and It Blew Up Hilariously in His Face

Published

on

Donald Trump kicked off his Saturday morning on Twitter with a simple attempt to promote the hashtag #StopTheCoup but didn’t get many backers.

But he did get a lot of derision and explanations about what a “coup” really is — along with inspiring the hashtag: #ThePresidentIsACrybaby.

As one commenter noted, “Holding the president* accountable for his actions isn’t a coup… it’s their job. ”

That was the general response, see below:

Mulvaney Threw DOJ Under the Bus During Insane Press Conference – Turns Out the DOJ Has a Bigger Bus

Published

on

Fox News had a difficult time trying to understand chief of staff Mick Mulvaney’s admission that the president held up Ukraine aid for political reasons. According to Fox, the Department of Justice is “utterly confused and angry” that Mulvaney outed the president for using American dollars to bribe Ukraine for 2020 election assistance.

During a press briefing, Mulvaney, who also serves as director of the Office of Management and Budget, confessed that Trump told him Ukraine corruption issues also had to do with the DNC server.

“That he also mentioned to me that the corruption related to the DNC server, absolutely,” said Mulvaney. “No question about it. That’s it and that’s why we held up the money.”

The president believes a conspiracy theory that somehow Hillary Clinton’s email server is in Ukraine.

Fox News chief intelligence correspondent Catherine Herridge said that the comment has sparked “strong and quick reaction” from officials at the Justice Department.

“They have been sending out guidance to us over the last 15 minutes,” she said. “We are told that the Justice Department was ‘utterly confused and angry’ about Mulvaney’s comments that linked the suspension of foreign aid with the cooperation from Ukraine into the Justice Department investigation that’s being led by the U.S. Attorney in Connecticut, John Durham.”

Durham is the person tasked with probing the beginning of the Russia investigation and whether procedures were followed.

Meanwhile, EU Ambassador Gordon Sondland was testifying on Capitol Hill that he too was told that the president’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, would be the point person on anything having to do with Ukraine. It was only later that Sondland said he learned that it also included investigations into the former vice president and his family.

“Our view was that the men and women of the State Department, not the president’s personal lawyer should take responsibility for all aspects of U.S. foreign policy towards Ukraine,” Sondland testified in his opening statement.

‘About to Become Available for DWTS’: Internet Mocks Rick Perry Quitting Trump Administration

Published

on

Secretary of Energy Rick Perry is reportedly quitting the Trump administration next month, and the Internet is having a blast mocking his reasons for leaving – whatever they may be.

Perry, who took the job because he thought the Energy Secretary was something of a global oil and gas ambassador, is expected to depart next month, Politico reports Thursday night.

Curiously, just one day ago it was widely reported that Secretary Perry, unlike everyone else in the Trump administration, would be happy to cooperate with the House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry. That news came after folks remembered that Perry had traveled to Ukraine, and as Politico noted, “led the U.S. delegation to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s inauguration in May.”

Now his role in that illegal and impeachable extortion scandal is being closely scrutinized.

Politico cites unnamed sources, calling them “three people familiar with his plans” who “requested anonymity to discuss the departure before an official announcement was made.”

“No evidence has emerged that Perry was directly involved with Trump’s attempt to drum up an investigation of his political opponent,” Politico was certain to add.

That said, the timing of the news of his expected departure is rather curious, and many on social media were only too happy to mention it.
