Trump Reaches Peak Narcissism as He Calls for Contest to Determine Winner of ‘FAKE NEWS TROPHY!’
‘Your Favorite President (Me)’
President Trump wants to have a contest between CNN and other news networks – “not including Fox” – to determine which outlet “is the most dishonest, corrupt and/or distorted in its political coverage.” Trump, in his Monday morning tweet, also reached peak narcissism, as he once again called himself “your favorite President.” Trump’s current approval rating is 37%, according to Gallup.
We should have a contest as to which of the Networks, plus CNN and not including Fox, is the most dishonest, corrupt and/or distorted in its political coverage of your favorite President (me). They are all bad. Winner to receive the FAKE NEWS TROPHY!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 27, 2017
Trump is a frequent Fox News watcher, and often praises the conservative cable news network, especially Sean Hannity, one of Trump’s top supporters.
As the Mueller investigation reaches closer and closer into Trump’s inner circle and the media is focusing on stories about Trump’s former National Security Advisor Mike Flynn possibly flipping against the president, while daily more news is reported about Trump’s disastrous tax bill, he has ramped up the punches.
The president’s recurrent attacks against CNN will hurt him in the AT&T – Time Warner merger Trump’s Dept. of Justice is suing to stop. Courts have held Trump’s tweets are admissible and subject to scrutiny, and show animus.
Trump has been questioning the authenticity of the “Access Hollywood” tape. He apologized for his remarks in them when the were released last year. He also went on a vicious attack against CNN over the weekend.
