Benham Brothers: ‘Evil, Wrong, Gay Agenda Needs To Be Stopped’ (Audio)
The Benham Brothers are back to preaching against the LGBT community, and will be headlining an anti-gay conservative political conference this weekend.
Unsatisfied with all the attention they received after HGTV canceled their unaired TV pilot, the Benham Brothers are back, doing what they do best: attacking LGBT people.
“It’s very important that we speak to the fact that homosexuality is a sin that can only be redeemed by God when we repent,” one of the Benhams said on Tamara Scott Live on the American Family Association radio network. “But the idea of a homosexual agenda that seeks to capture the nation and capture children’s curriculum, capture television and entertainment, I mean you name it, and laws — that is an idea that is evil and wrong and needs to be dealt with.”
You can hear those comments by forwarding to about the 0:58 mark towards the end of this clip:
The Benhams didn’t leave their attack at just calling the LGBT community “evil and wrong.”Â
“We see a parallel kingdom that’s a struggle between good and evil, truth and lies, light and darkness. In this parallel kingdom, run by Satan, seeks to rob, kill, and destroy, and it starts with the truth.” The Brothers made that comment immediately after Tamara Scott talked about the Iowa newspaper publisher who was fired for calling LGBT people “the Gaystapo.” (Of course, Scott didn’t mention that salient fact.)
Forward to about the 1:35 mark:
Good As You‘s Jeremy Hooper, writing for GLAAD, published these audio clips. He reports that on Saturday, “when they take the stage at the annual summit of Iowa’s leading anti-LGBT group, called The Family Leader, David and Jason Benham will headline a lineup of speakers that includes two sitting U.S. Senators (Sen. Cruz and Sen Scott) and a third U.S Seante hopeful (Jodi Ernst), the current governor (Republican Terry Branstad) and lieutenant governor (Republican Kim Reynolds) of the state, three once-and-possibly-future GOP presidential candidates (Mike Huckabee, Rick Perry, and Rick Santorum), a U.S. Congressman (Rep. Steve King), and multiple conservative leaders.”
The GOP, as Rand Paul notes in The New York Times this week, is inherently anti-gay, and the radical religious right is fanning the flames of its hate.
