Donald Trump Jr. Will Be First to Be Subpoenaed by House Democrats Says Top Congresswoman
The President's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., will be the first to be sent a subpoena by House Democrats in a new investigation into Russia's attack on the U.S. elections, as The Washington Examiner reports.
Rep. Jackie Speier, a top House Democrat from California, was asked Tuesday night while delivering a speech to the Woman's National Democratic Club (video), who would be subpoenaed first.
"You'll understand why I say this: Donald Trump, Jr.," Congresswoman Speier responded. “There are a number of persons that testified before the committee that I feel were not telling the truth.”
Speier added that Republicans in the House refused to subpoena documents from Donald Trump Jr., but Democrats will.
Many believe Trump Jr.'s remarks about the now infamous Trump Tower meeting in 2016 reveal evidence of collusion. In an email, after being offered dirt on Hillary Clinton, he replied, "If it's what you say I love it."
