Elizabeth Taylor’s Funeral To Be Protested By God Hates Fags Church
Elizabeth Taylor’s funeral will be protested by God Hates Fags, the self-created moniker of the Westboro Baptist Church. Taylor, who passed away today at 79, was considered a gay icon and a beloved American, and therefore is especially appealing to the Westboro Church, fresh off its recent Supreme Court First Amendment victory.
Via her Twitter account, Margie Phelps, daughter of Pastor Fred Phelps, Westboro’s leader, said, “Hello rebels! RIP Elizabeth Taylor is in hell as sure as you’re reading this & getting mad as a wet hen. She should’ve obeyed God. Too late!,” and “No RIP Elizabeth Taylor who spent her life in adultery and enabling proud fags. They cuss her in hell today. #Westboro will picket funeral!”
Phelps also tweeted, “You brutes bellow RIP Elizabeth Taylor It’s not yours to give peace -it’s God’s. HE expressly declared no peace for wicked -only obedient,” and “Media mob & talking dead-heads will publicly lionize whore #ElizabethTaylor & squeal like stuck pigs when #WBC pickets funeral. #ShesInHell.” Phelps also called Taylor a “proud sinner.”
The God Hates Fags Church, known for its extreme stance against homosexuality, recently came into the news when Anonymous took down their websites on February 24, after a week of threatening to do so, to which the Westboro clan had responded, “Bring It.” (The websites are still down, one month later.)

After their Supreme Court win, the Westboro Baptist Church promised to quadruple its funeral protests, at which they shout and hold signs that say, “God Hates Fags,” and other uniquely-religiously-tainted comments.
