Donald Trump Proposes Nationwide Stop-And-Frisk Program at African-American Town Hall
Stop-And-Frisk Is Unconstitutional Institutionalized Racism
At what Fox News billed as a town hall to “discuss the core issues and concerns surrounding African-Americans this 2016 election cycle,†Donald Trump on Wednesday proposed a nationwide stop-and-frisk policy. His call for a policy already ruled unconstitutional comes in the aftermath of two high-profile cases of police shooting and killing Black men, including one who had his arms up in the air and was unarmed.
Claiming, “you have to,” implement stop-and-frisk as he has for many of his extremist impulses, like a nationwide ban on Muslims entering the U.S., Trump told the vastly white audience at an Ohio Black church that New York City’s stop-and-frisk program “worked incredibly well.”

Trump made his remarks in response to an audience member who asked about “black-on-black crime.”
“I would do stop-and-frisk,” Trump said, claiming that “you really help people sort of change their mind automatically, you understand, you have to, in my opinion, I see what’s going on here, I see what’s going on in Chicago, I think stop-and-frisk.”

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio ended stop-and-frisk, but months before winning the election a federal judge in 2013 ruled stop-and-frisk was a “policy of indirect racial profiling.†Ending it did not increase the crime rate, which remains exceptionally low in New York City (and across the nation.)Â
Trump seems to be unaware that NYC stop-and-frisk was deemed unconstitutional by a federal judge. Appeal is still pending.

Trump’s supposed African-American town hall is hosted of course by Trump-supporter Sean Hannity and airs Wednesday night on Fox News’ “Hannity.”Â
Note that Trump isn’t proposing national stop-and-frisk to find more bombers. He says it’ll lessen crime. That has been widely disproven.
