Huckabee: Same-Sex Marriage Is Like The Lies Nazis Told During The Holocaust (Video)
Mike Huckabee went nuclear this weekend, comparing same-sex marriage to lies the Nazis told during the Holocaust.Â
Mike Huckabee, an ordained Southern Baptist preacher, finds it easy to spin tall tales in front of large audiences, to make a point. This weekend he did just that, weaving a tale that managed to attack same-sex marriage as a lie, and compare it to the lies the Nazis told during the Holocaust.
After comparing the Nazis with ISIS and complimenting Hitler’s regime, which “at least…tried to hide what they were doing at Auschwitz and Birkenau,” Huckabee shifted his focus to same-sex marriage and abortion.Â
He told his audience at the Little Rock, Arkansas event, “America from Ordinary to Extraordinary,†how the Nazis lied to Germans to control them and to murder millions of people.
“You have to lie to people, and when lies permeate our culture, it’s a dangerous, dangerous thing,†Huckabee said. “If you are a believer and you believe old-fashioned things like the definition of life and the definition of marriage, it’s possible that the government will put you out of business as they have in numerous occasions like Elane’s Photography. Out of business.”
He then went on the falsely state that Oregon bakers Aaron and Melissa Klein, owners of Sweet Cakes By Melissa, are “out of business” and “face jail time” and “$150,000 or more in fines, because they wanted to run their business as Christians.”
The Kleins are not “out of business” and do not “face jail time,” much as Gov. Huckabee would like his supporters to believe. Does the former Arkansas governor believe excluding people because of who they are is running your business as a Christian?Â
When Huckabee went to Germany in November, he told a group of pastors that same-sex marriage will destroy the foundation of civilization.
So much for confining his opposition to same-sex marriage as just bible-based.
