Chris Wallace Crushes GOP Whip Steve Scalise’s Twisted Defense of Trump: ‘We’re Not Talking About the Whistleblower’

Published

on

House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) struggled on Sunday to defend President Donald Trump’s alleged attempt to bribe the president of Ukraine to investigate Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.

During an interview on FOX News Sunday, Wallace grilled Scalise about reports that U.S. Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland was overheard saying Trump only cared about things that benefit him like an investigation into Biden.

Wallace pointed out that Trump “never mentions the word corruption” in either of his telephone calls with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky but he did mention Joe Biden and his son.

“What he talks about is investigations,” Wallace explained. “Investigations of the Democrats, possible interference in 2016, investigations into the Bidens.”

Scalise complained that none of the impeachment witness who have testified in public hearings were on the calls with Trump and Zelensky.

“That’s not true for Gordon Sondland,” Wallace said. “Gordon Sondland met directly with the president a half dozen times.”

“Doesn’t that blow a hole in the president’s defense?” Wallace asked.

“The president’s defense is that those things didn’t happen,” Scalise said of pressure put on Ukraine. “There were only two people who participated in that phone call, President Trump and President Zelensky… the bottom line is he got the money.”

“A dozen people listened in on the phone call,” Wallace interrupted. “They are career foreign service officers. These are people who worked in the Trump administration.”

“The inspector general said the whistleblower had political motivations,” Scalise said.

“We’re not talking about the whistleblower,” Wallace replied. “I’m asking you about these people who worked for the Trump administration, who worked on the National Security Council or worked for the vice president’s office.”

“The foreign minister of Ukraine just came out two days ago to clear some of this up,” Scalise remarked.

“He incidentally was not on the call either,” Wallace chuckled.

‘Don’t Mess With Me’: Speaker Pelosi Destroys Reporter for Asking if She ‘Hates’ Trump (Video)

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi addressed reporters late Thursday morning, and after concluding her remarks and answering their questions she walked off the stage, but stopped in her tracks when one reporter asked: “Do you hate the President, Madam Speaker?”

The Speaker whipped around, pointed her finger at him and responded, “I don’t hate anybody.”

“Don’t you accuse me,” Pelosi railed.

“I still pray for the president all the time,” she continued, a statement she has made repeatedly over the past few years.

“I was raised in a Catholic house. I don’t hate anybody,” the Speaker said, chastising the reporter. “Not anybody in the world.”

“As a Catholic I resent you using the word ‘hate,'” she added. “So don’t mess with me when it comes to words like that.”

A Vice News senior political reporter says, “I’m not sure I’ve ever seen her this visibly angry.”

One Washington Post and CNN reporter tweeted she has never seen the Speaker that upset.

Another Politico reporter called it a “very tense moment.”

‘This Is a Fictional Narrative’: Dr. Fiona Hill Delivers Damning Slam Against Nunes’ Lie Ukraine Attacked US Election (Video)

Published

on

Dr. Fiona Hill, the former Deputy Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Europe and Russia on the National Security Council, delivered a scathing bombshell opening statement Thursday morning before the House Intelligence Committee’s impeachment hearing (video below).

Hill’s statement directly targeted Ranking Republican Member Devin Nunes’ lie that Ukraine, not Russia, attacked the U.S. 2016 election.

“Based on questions and statements I have heard, some of you on this committee appear to believe that Russia and its security services did not conduct a campaign against our country and that perhaps, somehow, for some reason, Ukraine did,” Dr. Hill said in her statement before Congress. “This is a fictional narrative that has been perpetrated and propagated by the Russian security services themselves.”

“I refuse to be part of an effort to legitimize an alternate narrative that the Ukrainian government is a U.S. adversary, and that Ukraine — not Russia — attacked us in 2016,” Dr. Hill continued. “These fictions are harmful even if they are deployed for purely domestic political purposes.”

Vindman Smacks Down Jim Jordan’s Attempt to Discredit Him by Reading From His Last Review: ‘Top 1% Military Officer’

Published

on

U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) tried to discredit Lt. Colonel Alexander Vindman during his testimony in the House Intelligence Committee’s impeachment inquiry Tuesday. Lt. Col. Vindman is the White House’s Ukraine Expert, who officially serves as the Director for European Affairs for the National Security Council.

Jordan tried to suggest Vindman is a leaker and his supervisors had questioned his judgment.

Vindman was prepared, and responded by reading from his latest review, from July.

“Your boss had concerns about your judgment, your former boss, Dr. Hill, had concerns about your judgment, your colleagues had concerns about your judgment, and your colleagues felt there were times when you leaked information,” Jordan accused. “Any idea why they have those impressions?”

Vindman, reading his review written by Dr. Fiona Hill: “Alex is a top one-percent military officer and the best Army officer I have worked with in my 15 years of government service.”

“He’s brilliant, unflappable and exercises excellent judgment,” Vindman read, looking up at Rep. Jordan, as he read “excellent judgment.”

Jordan tried to interrupt, but Vindman would not let him.

“I’m sorry,” Vindman said, suggesting he was not finished. He continued reading.

“And Colonel, you never leaked information?” Jordan pressed.

“I never did. I never would. That is preposterous that I would do that,” Vindman replied.
