Trump’s Collapsing Presidency Has Plunged Him Into His ‘Eccentric Dictator’ Phase: GOP Consultant

Published

on

In yet another scorching column for the Daily Beast, GOP consultant Rick Wilson used Donald Trump’s obsession with maintaining he was correct about Hurricane Dorian hitting Alabama as evidence that he gone completely off the rails and into his reality.

According to Wilson, “That bellowing you hear from the Oval Office may sound like the rantings of a kooky slowcoach accidental president of limited cognitive abilities. You could ascribe it to his obsessions and twitching, reflexive rages over even the slightest correction or disagreement as an act. We could blame it all on whatever slurry of toupee worms, mental illness, creeping dementia, tertiary syphilis, scurvy, and windmill cancer occupies his wee noggin, but it’s so much more, and it’s so much worse.”

Noting what has become known as “Sharpiegate,” after the president was busted for altering an official weather map to make his point about Alabama, Wilson said it is evidence of the president’s decline.

“Trump has entered the eccentric dictator phase of his presidency, so strap in,” he warned. “From Stalin to Mao to Mugabe to Pol Pot to Saddam to Trump’s sleepover bestie Kim Jong Un, Donald’s defining emotion is not contempt, but envy. These men enjoyed the life of power, wealth, control and freedom from accountability that fills Trump’s political spank bank.”

Wilson also noted Trump’s often-expressed desire to stay in office in perpetuity, writing, “Trump’s joking references to a third term are growing in number and intensity, and some part of his rat-nest consciousness is thinking, “I bet I could get away with it.” The 2020 efforts to kill off the Republican primary to clear the field for Trump are a preview. I mean, why bother with elections when there’s so much winning going on? ”

Then he brought the hammer down.

“While First Term Donald’s modesty keeps him stuck in off-the-rack Brioni tater sack-cut suits with a skosh more room in the seat and thigh, Second Term Donald is going all out,” he wrote. “Doesn’t the POTUS with the mostest deserve his own Commander in Chief uniform? Something with hella epaulets and gold braid? The designers will need to leave plenty of room for medals; let no man forget his heroism at the Battle of the Bowling Green, his Defense of Alabama Service Cross with Sharpie Cluster, and his Purple Shart with Bone Spurs Device.”

Chris Wallace Crushes GOP Whip Steve Scalise’s Twisted Defense of Trump: ‘We’re Not Talking About the Whistleblower’

Published

on

House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) struggled on Sunday to defend President Donald Trump’s alleged attempt to bribe the president of Ukraine to investigate Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.

During an interview on FOX News Sunday, Wallace grilled Scalise about reports that U.S. Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland was overheard saying Trump only cared about things that benefit him like an investigation into Biden.

Wallace pointed out that Trump “never mentions the word corruption” in either of his telephone calls with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky but he did mention Joe Biden and his son.

“What he talks about is investigations,” Wallace explained. “Investigations of the Democrats, possible interference in 2016, investigations into the Bidens.”

Scalise complained that none of the impeachment witness who have testified in public hearings were on the calls with Trump and Zelensky.

“That’s not true for Gordon Sondland,” Wallace said. “Gordon Sondland met directly with the president a half dozen times.”

“Doesn’t that blow a hole in the president’s defense?” Wallace asked.

“The president’s defense is that those things didn’t happen,” Scalise said of pressure put on Ukraine. “There were only two people who participated in that phone call, President Trump and President Zelensky… the bottom line is he got the money.”

“A dozen people listened in on the phone call,” Wallace interrupted. “They are career foreign service officers. These are people who worked in the Trump administration.”

“The inspector general said the whistleblower had political motivations,” Scalise said.

“We’re not talking about the whistleblower,” Wallace replied. “I’m asking you about these people who worked for the Trump administration, who worked on the National Security Council or worked for the vice president’s office.”

“The foreign minister of Ukraine just came out two days ago to clear some of this up,” Scalise remarked.

“He incidentally was not on the call either,” Wallace chuckled.

‘Stop Lying!’ MSNBC’s Steve Schmidt Rains Hell on GOP for Defending Trump’s ‘Dime-Store Mussolini’ Schemes

Published

Former Republican strategist Steve Schmidt called out his old party for “lying” about President Donald Trump’s actions toward Ukraine to distract from an “unprecedented” extortion scheme.

Schmidt appeared Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” to make predictions about the upcoming public impeachment hearings, and he said witnesses would tell a tale of sordid corruption.

“The American people will see when this begins to play out publicly is an act of corruption unprecedented in its magnitude and its severity,” Schmidt said. “What we see is the president of the United States extorting a foreign head of state, withholding congressionally approved military assistance to a nation that has a hot war with the Russians on the eastern front, for the purposes of getting dirt on the president’s political opponent.”

“There has never been in the entire post-World War II period of history, from Truman through Obama until Trump, there has never been an act of corruption by an American president quite like this,” he added. “It is extraordinary and severe.”

Jim Himes Coldcocks Chuck Todd Seconds After He Lets Rand Paul Lie: ‘My Head Is Only Now Decombusting’

Published

on

Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT) called out NBC host Chuck Todd on Sunday for allowing Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) to spin President Donald Trump’s extortion of Ukraine.

During a Sunday interview on Meet the Press, Paul deflected questions about Trump’s attempt to have Ukraine fabricate dirt on Joe Biden in exchange for military aid by turning the conversation to Hillary Clinton.

At one point, Todd wondered “two wrongs make a right,” suggesting that both Joe Biden and Trump had made errors in judgement when it comes to Ukraine.

Himes spoke to Todd following the Paul interview.

“If you grant me one second here, my head is only now decombusting from the exchange with Rand Paul,” Himes explained.

“I spent 11 years in public service defending the press,” he continued. “When Senator Rand Paul comes on and says what Donald Trump did — and the transcript is there — extorting a foreign government for his personal political gain and that’s exactly the same thing as Joe Biden, exactly the same thing as what he did Joe Biden saying this prosecutor should be released when Joe Biden is acting in consistency with American foreign policy.”

Himes then took a shot at Todd.

“When Rand Paul says that’s exactly the same thing as the president of the United States saying you need to find dirt on my political opponent,” the congressman said.

“With all due respect, Chuck, when you say do two wrongs make a right?” Himes added. “Let’s be very clear, the president of the United States demanding, extorting a vulnerable country to do his political bidding, to go after his political opponent has nothing to do with Joe Biden executing the policy or Hillary Clinton doing opposition research on her presidential opponent those are radically different things and what the president did is wrong and impeachable.”
