Democrats Debate Holding Barr in Contempt After He Cancels Testimony Before House Judiciary Committee
Disastrous Senate Performance
Attorney General Bill Barr has informed the House Judiciary Committee he will not appear before them on Thursday despite a previously scheduled hearing.
Democrats are now considering holding him in contempt of Congress.
The Attorney General delivered a disastrous performance Wednesday before the Senate Judiciary Committee, with top Democratic members later calling for his resignation.
Barr appeared to lie during his testimony and admittted to several grievous acts. Among them, admitting he examined none of the underlying evidence in the Mueller report.
The AG is objecting to an additional hour of questioning Thursday by House Judiciary Committee staff attorneys. Many have noted that Dr. Christine Blasey Ford was subjected to inquiry from an outside attorney and she is not even a member of the federal government.
