Watch: AG Barr Stammers and Stutters When Asked Why He Couldn’t Remember Getting Mueller’s Letter of Complaint

Attorney General Bill Barr struggled to find an answer when he was asked why he “couldn’t remember” that Special Counsel Robert Mueller sent him a letter and discussed on the phone his dissatisfaction with how his 22 month investigation had been characterized in the AG’s 4-page letter.
Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) blasted Barr Wednesday, reminding him that “attorneys don’t put things in writing unless they’re pretty serious about them.”
Durbin was referring to Mueller’s letter, now released, which chastises Barr for mischaracterizing his investigation, and for failing to capture the “context, nature, and scope” of the Mueller report.
“So I’ve got to ask you, if he puts it in writing,” Durbin asked Barr, “you couldn’t recall that, when Congressman [Charlie] Crist asked you that question a few days later?”
Mueller sent Barr his letter of complaint on March 27. Days later, the Florida Congressman asked Barr if Mueller agreed with the conclusions Barr wrote in his now-infamous 4-page summary letter, and Barr responded he did not know.

Many have accused Barr now of lying then, and some, including top Democrats, have called for him to resign for lying to Congress.
