Lara Trump: Angela Merkel Welcoming Refugees Was ‘One of the Worst Things That Ever Happened to Germany’

Ignores the Actual Worst Thing to Happen to Germany

Trump 2020 campaign advisor Lara Trump says German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s decision to welcome fleeing refugees into Germany in 2015 was its downfall.

Talking about migrants currently making their way from Central America toward the United States, the President’s daughter-in-law who is charged with producing his re-election campaign’s “Real News Update,” noted the hazards facing those opting to try to make a better home for their families in the U.S.

“People have incentive to try to come here, and a lot of them die or are injured along the way,” Trump told Fox Business News’ Stuart Varney Thursday morning.

The Fox Business host likened the migrants walking hundreds or even thousands of miles toward America to “a march across Europe by a million people who wanted to get into Western Europe.” Varney was apparently referring to asylum-seekers from war-torn Syria, where hundreds of thousands, including many civilians, have been killed.

“Open borders, let them in,” Varney said, calling the decision to aid those fleeing poverty, terrorism, and death, “disgraceful.”

Lara Trump agreed with his sentiment, and added that Chancellor Merkel’s decision was “the downfall of Germany.”

“It was,” Varney agreed.

“One of the worst things to ever happen to Germany,” Lara Trump concluded, tossing in a pitch for President Trump’s anti-immigrant policies.
