Trump Inner Circle Starting to Use ‘Slaughter’ and ‘Massacre’ to Describe GOP’s Midterm Chances at Polls

White House staffers and President Donald Trump’s inner circle are gearing up for an onslaught of Democratic investigations as polls continue to show that the Republican Party may take a beating at the polls in next Tuesday’s midterms.
According to a report at the Daily Beast, even President Trump is starting to understand that he is going to be under increasing pressure after the midterms despite publically claiming that GOP will pick up more seats in what he calls a “red wave.”
“He’s definitely more spooked than he was before,” said one senior White House official. “Several of us are expecting to spend more time [testifying] on the Hill soon.”
According to the report, aides are putting on a brave face, but they have noticed the reality sinking in with Trump who is reportedly planning on blaming a possible blow-out on the Republican Party.
The Beast reports that three different staffers confirmed that the words “slaughter” and “massacre” are being bandied about by “political, policy, and communications advisers in their private predictions of what this month could bring.”
Trump’s distancing from his own party has been reflected in his rhetoric at campaign rallies where he is ostensibly is promoting the local candidates, but spends more time talking about himself and entertaining the crowd with red meat quotes about immigration and the “fake news” media.
As an acknowledgment of the coming “blue wave,” Trump told reporters on Wednesday that he didn’t plane to “blame anybody” if the GOP’s Congressional majority is decimated next Tuesday.
“I think we’re doing well with the House,” he told the press, before adding the caveat: “We have to see.”
