WTH?
‘Praise Be!’: Melania Mocked for ‘Handmaid’s Tale’ White House Christmas Trees Video
Melania Trump posted a video of the White House dressed up for Christmas, but some are comparing the decorations to the popular Hulu dystopian series “The Handmaid’s Tale,” thanks to the blood red trees and the First Lady belonging to what some see as an oppressive religious regime.
Calling the White House “the People’s House,” the First Lady announced it is “ready to celebrate Christmas and the holiday season!” in a tweet that includes the curious video:
The People’s House @WhiteHouse is ready to celebrate Christmas and the holiday season! pic.twitter.com/oejKW3mC15

Others are comparing Melania Trump to Marie Antonette, and some mocked the inclusion of her “Be Best” ornaments.
Some, like comedian and activist Samantha Bee, reminded the First Lady that her husband just shot tear gas at young children and pregnant mothers.
Thanks for the holiday inspo, @FLOTUS! This year, all we want is for your husband to stop tear-gassing kids. https://t.co/YgPyhzkuYf

And some noted how isolated the White House feels under the Trump administration:
You’re alone. It’s weird. ‘The People’s House’ but it’s just you—isolated, surrounded by extravagance. You’re like Marie Antoinette. It’s a rather sad and pitiable promo piece w that singular token ‘be best’ ornament making it all the more so. Really feel so sorry for you.

Not a fan of the red trees. But glad they recycled Donald’s old ties.
