DOJ Has Received Referral for Criminal Charge Against Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe

NBC News is reporting the Dept. of Justice has received a referral recommending fired former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe be criminally charged for allegedly lying to the FBI.
It’s unclear who has initiated the recommendation or if this is a partisan attack.

But former US Attorney and MSNBC contributor Joyce Vance suggests this is not out of the ordinary, after the Inspector General’s report:
This doesn’t mean McCabe will be prosecuted, but rather that the US Atty in DC will review the file & determine if there is a prosecutable case. The IG is acting like any other investigative agency, referring a case & it would have been a surprise if this wasn’t sent over. https://t.co/bwcqrWymze
