Even Prime Minister Abe Is Bored With Trump Lying About Collusion With Russia Being a ‘Hoax’
During Wednesday evening’s joint press conference President Trump went on an extended diatribe about the Mueller investigation. Even his guest, Prime Minister Shinzō Abe of Japan, appeared bored and tired of his host’s lies.
“There’s been no collusion, and that was found, as you know, by the House Intelligence Committee,” Trump told reporters at Mar-a-Lago, where he is spending the entire week. Only Republicans on the Committee agreed there was no collusion.
“There was no collusion with Russia, other than by the Democrats,” Trump falsely claimed. “Or, as I call them, the obstructionists.”
“This was really a hoax, created largely by the Democrats, as a way of softening the blow of a loss which frankly they shouldn’t have had,” Trump continued, referring to Hillary Clinton’s win of the popular vote by nearly 3 million more votes.
The screenshot above, of Prime Minister Abe closing his eyes and appearing to begin to fall asleep, was taken at the moment Trump made the claim the Democrats created a hoax “as a way of softening the blow.”
“You look at the kind of money that was paid, probably some went to Russia, you look at Podesta having a company in Russia,” Trump went on.
He also attacked the DNC once again for not releasing its server to the FBI, which “takes what they want,” he charged – likely a response to the raid last week on his personal attorney’s residences and offices.
“This is a hoax. As far as the investigation, nobody has ever been more transparent that I have instructed our lawyers.”
“So we are hopefully coming to the end,” of the Mueller probe, Trump said.
