Bernie Sanders Really Wants to Know Why the Clinton Campaign Didn’t Do Something About Russia
Senator Bernie Sanders is accusing the Hillary Clinton campaign of not telling supporters about Russia’s interference in the 2016 elections, while claiming Russia did not work to promote his own campaign.
“I did not know that Russian bots were promoting my campaign,” Sen. Sanders, who ran against Hillary Clinton as a Democrat in the primaries, told Vermont Public Radio’s Jane Lindholm in an interview published Wednesday. “Russians bots were not promoting my campaign.”
But according to last week’s indictment of 16 Russia nationals and companies, “Russian nationals and businesses also worked to boost the campaigns of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and Green party nominee Jill Stein in an effort to damage Democrat Hillary Clinton,” USA Today reported.
Vermont Public Radio’s Vermont Edition also asked the Independent Senator why he did not tell his supporters Russia was interfering in the U.S. election.
“I would say that the real question to be asked is what was the Clinton campaign” doing, suggesting they did not tell supporters about Russia.

“They had more information about this than we did, and at this point, we were working with them,” Sanders added.
But the Clinton campaign, including Hillary Clinton herself, did talk about Russian interference during the campaign.
