“This Is What Dictators Do”: Trump Calls For Someone To Buy New York Times, “Run It Correctly”
“Trump sees The New York Times (and CNN) the way Putin saw NTV.”
Somebody with aptitude and conviction should buy the FAKE NEWS and failing @nytimes and either run it correctly or let it fold with dignity!

For the second straight day, President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Sunday morning to attack The New York Times.Â
“Somebody with aptitude and conviction should buy the FAKE NEWS and failing @nytimes and either run it correctly or let it fold with dignity!”
It’s unclear why Trump is angry at the NYT. Perhaps he’s just trying to distract from intense criticism and widespread protests of his anti-Muslim immigration ban.Â
Several Twitter users noted that Trump chose not to comment on the first military servicemember to die in combat under his administration, who was killed earlier Sunday in a raid in Yemen. Others noted that Trump was effectively calling for an owner to undermine the NYT‘s editorial independence.Â
This is what dictators do. They try to silence independent outlets by encouraging rich friends to buy or close them. We are in a scary place https://t.co/0BFKv1Pqed
