Trump Supporter Has It All Figured Out: We Need the Wall Because It’s ‘Illegals’ Who Are Burning American Flags
‘How Many Illegals Are Burning Our Flag and Yet We’re Not Arresting Them and Deporting Them’ (Answer: None)
Welcome to the mind of the Donald Trump voter. Everything he says is rationalized, the bits and pieces of nonsense he spews are formed into ideas that make sense to them, that are palpable to their particular brand of logic and morality.
Take, for example, this Donald Trump supporter who sat in on a CNN “New Day” panel in a segment that aired Thursday morning. She shared her thoughts on Trump’s recent insane tweet that called for people who burn the American flag to lose the U.S. citizenship or spend a year in jail. Never  mind that the Supreme Court has already ruled, twice, that flag burning constitutes free speech and thus is protected under the First Amendment.
She has it all figured out.
“How many illegals are burning our flag and yet we’re not arresting them and deporting them,” she insisted. “They burn our flags. You want to be in our country but you burn our flags.”
She would likely be surprised to learn that there is not a rash of undocumented immigrants burning American flags. In fact, several quick Google searches turned up zero incidents of undocumented immigrants burning American flags.
“No allegiance,” she continued. “Send them home. I can’t wait for the wall to be built,” she clamored.
Asked by CNN’s Alisyn Camerota how she would feel if Trump doesn’t build the wall, she insisted he will.
“I believe he will build the wall but he will make sure that we have enough border patrol out there to take care of this country,” she said.

Chances seem pretty strong that this Trump voter would be surprised to learn that under President Obama, the number of border patrol agents has doubled since George Bush’s second term in office. And that was in 2011.
In 2013, The Washington Post reported America has 21,444 border patrol agents, and “by 2012, we completed 651 miles of vehicle fencing—including 352 miles of pedestrian fencing and 299 vehicle barriers—300 towers, and nine drones, according to Customs and Border Patrol.”
She would definitely be surprised to learn this from that 2013 Post article:
Last year, Congress funded Customs and Border Protection at $11.7 billion—64 percent more than FY 2006 and $262 million more than in FY 2011, despite the new climate of austerity . And that doesn’t count the $600 million that Congress provided in a separate border security bill in 2010. But the Obama administration believes that it’s also paid dividends: In 2011, apprehensions at the border were at 340,252—the lowest level since 1971—while the Obama administration has deported immigrants at a faster rate than Bush.
Sadly, many of these deportations have broken up families, and literally led countless people to their deaths. El Salvador and Honduras at any given moment share the title of “murder capital of the world.”
