Family Research Council Founder: ‘We Lost The Entire Culture War’ With Same-Sex Marriage Decision

Published

on

The man who founded both the Family Research Council and Focus on the Family laments the Supreme Court’s marriage decision.

A decade ago James Dobson was hailed as “the nation’s most influential evangelical leader.” Today, the man who founded Focus on the Family and the Family Research Council (and left before it became a certified anti-gay hate group under the leadership of Tony Perkins) is little more than a footnote on decades of anti-gay hate, his name fading fast from mainstream America.

Last week Dobson sat for an interview with Andrew Womack, a Christian evangelical televangelist and faith healer who says humans have the power to bring people back to life.

As Right Wing Watch reports, Dobson admitted to feeling he had a “black cloud” over him after the U.S. Supreme Court in June ruled same-sex couples have a constitutional right to marry.

And Dobson said the decision ushered in not just marriage rights but many other issues related to “the entire culture war.”

“It hit me like a ton of bricks,” Dobson said. “What had hit me is that that decision is not really about gay marriage. it’s about everything else,” the 79-year old host of “Family Talk with Dr. James Dobson” said.

“It’s about control of the public schools and it’s what happens in universities,” Dobson insisted. “It’s about the economy and it’s about business and it’s about the military and it’s about medicine. It’s about everything.”

“We lost the entire culture war with that one decision,” Dobson admitted, adding, “it’s going to touch every dimension.

Trump’s MAGA Supporters Chant Profanities Within ‘Clear’ Earshot of Young Kids Biden Was Talking to Outdoors

Published

Trump’s MAGA supporters were out in full force Friday afternoon, chanting “F**k Biden,” waving flags with the same slogan, along with ones that falsely claim “Trump won,” as President Joe Biden spoke with young children outside a Connecticut child development center.

“Around 50 more Trump supporters,” according to the White House press pool, “gathered a street away from the center. They chanted ‘F*** Joe Biden. He’s not our president.’ They also shouted ‘traitors’ as a coda while we walked inside.”

Minutes later the press pool reported President Biden “entered the playground at 1:25, greeted by some gregarious children. One gave him a hug, as he kneeled to talk. Another, wearing an American flag t-shirt, pointed out parts of the playground.”

But then, confirmation that the Trump supporters’ profanity could be heard by the young children and the President.

“From the playground the pool could still hear protesters chanting from the curb outside. More expletives. More yelling,” the pool reports.

NBC News White House Correspondent Mike Memoli also confirms:

President Biden later made televised remarks promoting his “Build Back Better” agenda, and talking about how improvements to infrastructure will help young children.

Biden Justice Dept. to Formally Petition Supreme Court to Block Unconstitutional Texas Abortion Ban

Published

on

The Biden Dept. of Justice will formally ask the U.S. Supreme Court to block Texas’ near-total ban on abortion, one many legal experts say is unconstitutional.

CNN reports the DOJ will make the formal request to block implementation of the law “while legal challenges play out, a department spokesperson said Friday.”

The DOJ has been filing requests with lower courts, but in an unusual set of circumstances the Fifth Circuit, one of the nation’s most conservative courts of appeal, has sided with the State of Texas instead of judges who have moved to block the new type of law.

This will be seen as a test of the 6-3 majority conservative Supreme Court, that repeatedly bent to then-President Donald Trump’s frequent requests, as he bypassed lower courts frequently to implement his polices that were often challenged by civil rights groups.
