Watch Live Now (Maybe): Full Hawaii House Takes Up Same-Sex Marriage Bill
The full Hawaii House is scheduled to take up the same-sex marriage bill that passed last night by the House Judiciary and Finance committees. Three amendments were added to the bill, which will increase religious exemptions in an attempt to appease the religious community.
UPDATE: This link should take you to a Livestream from inside the chamber. It’s not an official channel and the audio is hard to make out because of the Christian anti-gay marriage ‘mob’ now protesting outside Hawaii State House.
You can should be able to watch live steaming video of the proceedings here or here or here.
Assuming all goes smoothly today, a third and final reading of the bill, and a full House vote, could take place Friday. The Senate would then need to vote again on the changes, and assuming it passes there, the governor will sign the bill into law.
House to do procedural vote on 2nd reading of #SB1. Full and final House vote will be 3rd reading, at earliest Friday. #HiLeg
