NY Gay Marriage Bill Vote Tuesday
NY Gay Marriage Bill Vote Tuesday. The New York State Assembly will vote on a gay marriage bill tomorrow. It is widely expected to pass, as it did two years ago. Once the bill reaches the Senate, it will be a close call. Some Republicans may vote for the bill, some Democrats, notably Bronx Dem Ruben Diaz, an ordained minister who has spent decades getting in the way of gay rights, will not.
There is a strong desire among those who support the bill to beat New Jersey to the punch. Many see The Garden State as the next to battle for marriage equality.
