MN Anti-Gay Org: Prop 8 Ruled Traditional Marriage Violates Constitution
A Minnesota anti-gay marriage group fighting desperately to sway voters — and resorting to lies and half-truths — in an attempt to pass a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage is now getting ugly with a federal judge in another just-released video.
Minnesota For Marriage‘s new “Marriage Minute” video asks, “Is it true that Minnesota’s marriage law has no rational basis and only exists because of moral animosity toward gays and lesbians?,” and amazingly answers, “no.”
“Well, amazingly, this is what a federal judge in California stated when he issued a preposterous ruling that traditional marriage violates the United States Constitution.”
What?
You can twist anything, and that’s what they did. Period.
Kally Yanta, the video series host, then highlights Federal Judge Vaughn Walker, the judge in the Prop 8 trial who found Prop 8 to be unconstitutional. She says Judge Walker’s “unique, personal circumstances may have colored his judgment a bit.”
Because, those gays cannot possibly be objective, isn’t that right, Kally?
Yanta goes on to say Walker “failed to disclose” he is gay and in a relationship. Yanta fails to mention that her side lost that argument, and the court ruled Walker was not under any obligation to disclose that fact.
This video cherry-picks and lies. It deals in untruths and half-truths, and what really is offensive is that Yanta was a journalist. Disgusting.
Shame on Minnesota For Marriage and shame on Kally Yanta.
Apparently, however, they are losing the fight. Despite the millions Minnesota For Marriage and NOM have poured into  Minnesota, the polls reveal that “52% of Minnesotans surveyed said that they agree with President Obama that marriage should be available to same-sex couples, while only 42% of Minnesotans said that they disagreed,” according to a new poll released by SurveyUSA.
The Minnesota for Marriage email accompanying this video states:
Please share this important educational resource with family, friends and neighbors. It’s critically important that all our supporters be as informed as possible about the amendment, and this series of videos is a quick and easy way for you and your friends to learn about what is at stake in this election.
Critically important people be mis-informed, so you have a chance of winning. Because that’s what Minnesota for Marriage does.
Keep spreading those lies and half-truths, Kally. Keep spending that cash, Minnesota For Marriage. We’ll keep being on the right side of history, and so will the good people of Minnesota.
