Lisa Murkowski, The Cindy McCain Of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell?
I know, perhaps a bit redundant, but I didn’t want to denigrate John Kerry…
Yesterday, as we reported, newly-re-minted Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski (that’s MUR + KOW + SKI) told a local Alaska TV station that she would support repealing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” “as long as as long as it is supported by the troops as long as it doesn’t hurt the performance, the morale, the recruitment.”
But Igor Volsky finds just a few hours later, Murkowski told CNN, “I don’t know how it is going to be presented in the upcoming lame duck in terms of that defense authorization bill, and whether or not we will get to that,†she said. “It is indeterminate at this point in time.â€
I.E., I was for repeal before I backpedaled and moved toward GOP talking points…
Lisa Lisa, let’s make this happen!
Oh, and Cindy — looks like we’re waiting for an apology…
