Another Screaming GOP Lawmaker — This Time It’s Rep. Joe Walsh (Video)
Fresh on the heels of Republican Illinois state lawmaker Mike Bost, whose screaming attack last week went viral, today we show you infamous deadbeat dad and GOP U.S. Congressman Joe Walsh, at a town hall style constituents’ meeting — apparently held in a local bar. Walsh is caught on tape screaming and swearing at his constituents, telling them, “don’t blame banks and don’t blame the marketplace for the mess we’re in right now. I am tired of hearing that crap. I am tired of hearing that crap.”
Walsh continues, “There are already mechanisms in place. That just pisses me off.”
Walsh — knowingly or unknowingly — is lying when he states that “It’s the government that created this mess,” referring to the housing meltdown and subsequent financial collapse of 2008.
The video ends with Rep. Walsh saying, “Quiet for a minute. Quiet for a minute. Quiet for a minute — or I’m gonna ask you to leave.”
While it appears Walsh’s constituents are laughing off his explosive attack, no one should be able to agree that this is not acceptable behavior of a U.S. Congressman — nor is lying.
Deb Della Piana at Veracity Stew, who posted this video, and others in a piece titled “Joe Walsh Heaps More Rancid Waste on the Tea Party Garbage Heap,” writes:
Last week he told his constituents that the Democrats make promises to groups of people because they want their vote:
“They want the Hispanic vote, they want Hispanics to be dependent on government, just like they got African Americans dependent on government. That’s their game.â€
Really? It’s only Hispanics and African Americans that are homeless, getting food stamps and on welfare? I can tell you from personal experience that’s not true. From 2002 through 2005, I was homeless through no fault of my own with two young children, one under the age of a year. I was receiving WIC, food stamps and welfare. Here’s another little fact for the members of the Tea Party: There are very, very few people taking advantage of the welfare system. It’s virtually impossible. It is a denigrating, depressing life. You have no privacy. Whatever Department of Transitional Assistance you fall under assigns you a case worker that has keys to where you live. The case worker has carte blanche to walk in at any time of the day or night. They have access to every single aspect of your life…including bank accounts and medical records. Nobody. NOBODY would choose homelessness and the welfare state as a way of life. Wake up. Better still: Try it on for size.
Back in April, he told a town hall gathering that Barack Obama was elected only because he was African American.
Ah, yes, the classic Joe Walsh.
