Harry Potter Author Slams Religious Anti-Gay Twitter User Angry Over Dumbledore’s Sexuality
J. K. Rowling, who created the Harry Potter series, took a moment today to offer some advice to a former fan angry the British novelist says that Dumbledore is gay.
Almost exactly seven years ago, Harry Potter creator J. K. Rowling announced to the world that Professor Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, beloved Hogwarts headmaster, is gay.
From New York City’s Carnegie Hall, Rowling read to fans from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
“Did Dumbledore, who believed in the prevailing power of love, ever fall in love himself?,” Rowling was asked.
“My truthful answer to you… I always thought of Dumbledore as gay,” she answered.
Earlier this year, Rowling sent out this tweet:
It’s the 16th anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts. I’m having a moment’s silence over my keyboard. I hated killing some of those people.

For some unknown reason, Georgia resident Frank Fraticelli decided today to respond:
@jk_rowling once u revealed Dumbledore was homosexual I stopped being a fan. Nice how u blindsided us with that one. Enjoy your billion $.

And in a rare and magical moment, Rowling replied.
@halfelven55ff I advise you to start following Brian Souter at once. He’s much more your kind of person.

Souter is an anti-gay conservative funding anti-gay legislation and politicians.
Her tweet has been favorited nearly 800 times.
Fraticelli shared his deeply-held religious beliefs:Â
What would have changed if we knew? I believe many Christians would not have bought it. The networks may have shied away from it.

Rowling got a tremendous amount of support.
@halfelven55ff @jk_rowling To paraphrase Rubeus Hagrid; “NEVER. Insult. Albus Dumbledore. In front of Jo.”

Fraticelli, not so much.
