Breaking: Todd Akin Says He Is Staying In U.S. Senate Race
Congressman Todd Akin minutes ago just told Mike Huckabee that he is staying in the U.S. Senate race despite calls from both parties to quit. Yesterday, Akin also appeared on Huckabee’s radio show during which Huckabee offered Akin an “out” of his comments that “legitimate” rape victims rarely if every conceive. Huckabee offered the word “forcible” in place of “legitimate.”

“I want to make things absolutely clear,” Rep. Akin told Mike Huckabee. “We are going to continue with this race for the United States Senate,” Talking Points Memo also reported.
Yesterday, according to multiple GOP politicos, including CNN’s Erick Erickson, and Richard Grenell, Akin reportedly was making plans to resign today.
BuzzFeed’s Ben Smith today via Twitter reported Akin had already made ad buys for the next week:
