Watch: Cynthia Nixon To NOM’s Brian Brown “Gays Don’t Want To Redefine Marriage”
This weekend, The New Yorker hosted a debate titled, “Love and Obstacles: The Case for Gay Marriage.” Watch “Sex and the City” actress and LGBT activist Cynthia Nixon take down the National Organization for Marriage’s president, Brian Brown, as she explains that merely entering into any institution does not redefine it.
“When women got the vote, they did not ‘redefine’ voting. When African Americans got the right to sit at a lunch counter alongside white people, they did not ‘redefine’ eating out.”
Classic, brilliant, and must-remember words for every LGBTQ person and our allies.
