Why I Should Win
In November, 2008 in response to the passage of Proposition 8, I created “The New Civil Rights Movement,” a blog focused on helping people understand the gay rights situation in our country. It’s become a well-respected voice, even quoted by both sides of the gay marriage argument. I also occasionally write articles for “The Bilerico Project,” a well-recognized GLBT blog focused on politics.
This summer I co-founded “The Great Nationwide Kiss-In,” to highlight incidents of same sex couples being harassed and arrested – just for kissing in public. In just five weeks it became a fifty-five city international event.
