NY: Marriage Equality Rally Weekend
NY: Marriage Equality Rally Weekend.
After the New York State senate’s failure to pass a marriage equality bill, many called for voting out of office the “Hate 38,” those Senators who voted against the bill. Of the thirty-eight, eight are Democrats, and activists, including Marriage Equality New York, are holding rallies all weekend to protest against Senators who voted “nay.”
First up – Saturday – is convicted criminal and former marriage equality supporter, Queens Senator Hiram Monserrate.
Sunday brings rallies against three Democrats: Carl Kruger (Brooklyn,) George Onorato (Astoria, Queens,) and Thomas Morahan (Rockland and Orange County.)
