Updates On Gay Marriage Decisions: CA, ME, NH, NY.
**UPDATE: 12:05: BNO reports a Maine presser at 12:30 today.**
The New York Times mentions today that the California Prop 8 battle could be decided this week:
“In California, where the State Supreme Court may rule this week on whether a voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage is constitutional, gay-rights advocates are optimistic even though many expect the ruling to uphold the ban.”
In the same piece, the Times reports that New York’s gay marriage bill most likely will not be taken up until next week.
In Maine, The Bangor Daily News reports this morning,
“Gov. John Baldacci has not said whether he would sign the marriage bill into law, veto it or allow it to become law without his signature. It could be on his desk as early as Thursday.
FInally, the New Hampshire House is on schedule to address an amendment to its gay marriage bill this afternoon. The New Hampshire Union Leader reports the bill “may go to governor today.”
