Watch 8 PM EST: President Obama Holds Town Hall On Immigration
President Barack Obama holds a town hall with MSNBC’s José DÃaz-Balart starting at 8:00 PM EST.Â
President Barack Obama today held a town hall at at Florida International University in Miami. MSNBC anchor José DÃaz-Balart hosted the event, which was recorded and will be aired tonight at 8:00 PM EST on MSNBC and MSNBC.com.
According to pool reports, the President offered this about immigration:
“We’ve got to pass a bill. The pressure’s got to continue to stay on Congress. The pressure’s got to continue to stay on the Republican Party that is blocking comprehensive immigration reform… For the next set presidential candidates — because I’m term-limited, Michelle’s happy about that — when they start asking for votes, the first question should be, ‘Are you really going to deport 11 million people? If not, what’s your plan?’ … We’re going to have to keep on the political process on a separate track.â€
The pre-recorded event begins at 8:00 PM EST.
