Trump Tries to Reframe Whistleblower’s Allegations as Just ‘Dicey’ Conversation – Declares ‘Nothing Said Wrong’

Published

on

Knowing that Fox News has barely covered the explosive allegations from an anonymous intelligence official’s whistleblower complaint, President Donald Trump Friday morning was hard at work trying to reframe the allegations to his base.

Based on multiple Washington Post reports, the whistleblower is alleging President Trump committed repeated acts that were considered so troubling the intel community’s inspector general called the whistleblower’s complaint “credible” and “urgent.”

They include Trump apparently withholding U.S. Military aid from Ukraine in an attempt to strong-arm that nation’s new president into digging up dirt against his top political opponent, Joe Biden.

If true, legal experts say, it is not only impeachable, but a criminal offense.

Trump Friday morning is claiming there are multiple whistleblowers, which if true is news, and they are “highly partisan,” which he puts in quotes as if to suggest the media has characterized them that way, which is false.

He also suggests the media is minimizing what the complaint alleges: he claims the media is calling his threat to withhold military aid merely “a ‘dicey’ conversation.”

And he’s of course claiming “there was nothing said wrong,” but then, curiously seems to admit to a conversation, saying “it was pitch perfect!”

Here’s how Trump is spinning what could possibly be the end of his presidency:

‘Fraud and Fabrication!’: Desperate Donald Lies and Fear-Mongers in Early AM Tweetstorm

Published

on

President Donald Trump clearly must see the writing on the wall: the narrowing of options, the polls increasingly supporting impeachment and removal from office, day after day of subpoenaed current and former administration officials being deposed by House investigators, the bipartisan condemnation of his single-handed destruction of decades of U.S. Middle East policy that has led to ethnic cleansing of America’s now-former allies in the war against ISIS, his approval polls sinking, the massive exodus from his administration, and, of course, certain impeachment with odds ever increasing that the Senate will actually convict and remove him from office.

So Trump is responding the only way he knows how: more lies, more threats, more fear-mongering.

Wednesday morning Trump took to Twitter, blasting the “Radical Left Dems,” as he labeled them, and calling for the impeachment of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Intel Chairman Adam Schiff. (Members of Congress and Senators cannot be impeached.)

He called all the Democratic 2020 presidential candidates – the top ones polls consistently show beating him by double-digits – “clowns,” while fear-mongering if he loses the election (assuming he’s still in office for that) the U.S. economy “would CRASH, just like in 1929.”

And he claimed “there is NO WAY that any of the Democrat Candidates that we witnessed last night could possibly become President of the United States.” Polls say otherwise.

Trump also falsely claimed a 95% approval rating among Republicans, which is a straight-up, made-up lie.

He also claimed he will win re-election, while Republicans will retain the Senate, and take back the House – something currently considered an impossibility.

If all that weren’t enough, Trump cried about the process of the impeachment inquiry, revealing once again he has zero understanding of how things work. Suggesting he is the Republican Party, he complained, “Republicans are totally deprived of their rights in this Impeachment Witch Hunt. No lawyers, no questions, no transparency!”

The impeachment inquiry is an investigation. He can have all the lawyers he wants during the trial, which is held by the Senate.

“The good news is that the Radical Left Dems have No Case. It is all based on their Fraud and Fabrication!” Trump tweeted.

Every piece of evidence, from his own White House call summary of his conversation with the president of Ukraine, to his admission – on national TV – of committing a crime, to the whistleblowers stepping forward, to the resignations of top-level administration officials, to the reported criminal investigation of his personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, and the arrest of Giuliani’s henchmen, and so much more, say otherwise.

Democrats Have a Plan to Accelerate Public Demand for Trump Impeachment

Published

Republicans have outspent Democrats on the impeachment battle. That’s starting to change.

According to a report from Politico, Democratic leaders are working with grassroots organizations to reach out to disaffected voters in an effort to drum up more support for the impeachment of President Donald Trump.

The report notes that the public was ahead of the Democratic leadership in their demand the president be brought to account for multiple crimes committed by the president while in office, but now top Democrats who urged caution and seeing the light and working with various groups.

“For several years now, the impeachment push has been defined by activists beating the drum on Trump — and powerful Democrats in Washington ignoring their calls,” Politico reports. “But in the two weeks since House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced an impeachment inquiry, this organizational hub has sprouted in D.C., commissioning polling, sponsoring ads and trying to guide the energy in the party toward a message and result the public will support, while counteracting a blistering, expensive anti-impeachment campaign from Trump and the Republican National Committee.”

According to Meagan Hatcher-Mays, director at the grassroots organization Indivisible, “It’s going to be very intense. It’s all hands-on-deck for grassroots folks and everybody in DC.”

Noting that “Republicans have spent $6.3 million in advertising on television, Google and Facebook focused on impeachment,” Politico reports that grassroots organizations are working hand-in-hand to respond.

“In the days since, more than two dozen major progressive organizations started joining a daily conference call, hosted by MoveOn.org, to share plans and strategize. Pelosi’s office has also circulated talking points to organizers off Capitol Hill, urging them to push the most basic facts surrounding Trump’s interactions with Ukraine,” Politico reports. “Democratic organizations are beginning to launch ad campaigns to counter Trump’s lead and make the case to voters that he should be impeached. Need to Impeach has already begun spending $3.1 million targeting Senate Republicans on impeachment.”

Politico also points out, “progressive digital organization ACRONYM this week launched a $1 million online campaign in five swing states focused on impeachment, and Indivisible and MoveOn.org are among the other organizations also considering running media campaigns.”

‘Trump Has Indicted Himself’: For the First Time Joe Biden Says President ‘Should Be Impeached’

Published

on

Former Vice President Joe Biden for the first time has said President Donald Trump “should be impeached.”

Despite Trump’s attacks against the Democratic frontrunner and his son, which include an elaborate arms-for-political-dirt extortion plot involving Ukraine, Biden until now has refrained from calling for the impeachment of the 45th president.

“Donald Trump has violated his oath of office betrayed this nation, and committed impeachable acts,” Biden told supporters in New Hampshire Wednesday afternoon. “To preserve our Constitution, our democracy, our basic integrity, he should be impeached.”

Biden says it’s “obvious” that Trump has “committed acts to warrant impeachment.”

And he says “impeachment isn’t only about what the president has done. It’s about the threat the president poses to the nation if allowed to remain in office.”
