Trump Shockingly Blames Obama for Russia’s Election Attacks: He ‘Did Nothing!’

Hours after Attorney General William Barr’s redacted version of the Mueller report was released, President Donald Trump tried to smooth things out with the American people.
By lying.
“Anything the Russians did concerning the 2016 Election was done while Obama was President. He was told about it and did nothing! Most importantly, the vote was not affected,” Trump tweeted.

Never mind this in July of 2016:
Literally five hours later Russia hacked the DNC.
President Barack Obama, by the way, did plenty, including placing sanctions on Russia. Trump’s National Security Advisor Mike Flynn then contacted Russia, telling them to not worry about the sanctions once Trump became president.
Obama also shut down two Russian spy compounds, and ordered 35 Russian operatives to leave the country within 72 hours.
President Obama also tried to convince Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to jointly tell the American people the extent of Russia’s attacks, before the 2016 election. McConnell reportedly threatened Obama he would characterize it as an Obama attempt to swing the election to Hillary Clinton.
NPR did a “fact check” of similar Trump lies last year.
