This Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Tweet Has Gone Viral in 24 Hours and Proves Why the GOP Is Terrified of Her

Conservatives thought they were smart when they unearthed and posted a decade-old video of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who was dancing on a rooftop as part of a college project.
“Here is America’s favorite commie know-it-all acting like the clueless nitwit she is… …High School video of ‘Sandy’ Ocasio-Cortez,” tweeted an anonymous right wing Twitter account that boasted support for the insane “#QAnon” conspiracy theory.
The attempt to take down Ocasio-Cortez, one day before she was sworn in as possibly America’s favorite newest Member of Congress backfired so badly the tweet was deleted and later, so was the entire Twitter account. (Here’s an archived version of the tweet.)
But Rep. Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has mastered social media, and was only too happy for the opportunity to strike back – and win more supporters along the way.
On Friday she posted a short video – just 11 seconds – of her dancing into her new office in Congress, snarking back at conservatives determined to embarrass and discredit her, and women in general.
I hear the GOP thinks women dancing are scandalous.
Wait till they find out Congresswomen dance too! 💃🏽
Have a great weekend everyone 🙂 pic.twitter.com/9y6ALOw4F6

The video has been viewed 16 million times in just over 24 hours, and “liked” over 700,000 times.
Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez has just under 2 million people who follow her Twitter account.
By contrast, the man who would have become Speaker of the House had Democrats not won the majority, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, after 12 years in Congress has just over 250,000 followers – across two accounts.
Ocasio-Cortez has become so popular that she even wildly beats the number of followers Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has across his two accounts, which total about 823,000 followers.
It’s no wonder Republican politicians, voters, strategists, and their henchmen are terrified of Ocasio-Cortez. There’s seemingly nothing they can do to hurt her. And every time they try she turns the tables on them, and becomes even more popular.
