Ruth Bader Ginsburg Has Just Had Surgery for Cancerous Growths

The Associated Press has just reported that U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has had cancerous growths removed from her lung.

"Post-surgery, there was no evidence of any remaining disease," a notice from the Supreme Court states. It adds that the nodules were malignant and discovered after her fall last month when she broke several ribs.

She is resting comfortably and will remain in the hospital for a few days.

UPDATE: 12:37 PM ET –

MSNBC's Katy Tur last night had tweeted that the Justice was on her plane to New York.

On-air just now she noted that Justice Ginsburg spent the flight working.
