The internet has exploded with anger and outrage moments after Maine Republican Senator Susan Collins announced she will vote on Saturday to place accused attempted rapist Brett Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court.

Senator Collins has enjoyed a reputation as a moderate who will cross the aisle, and her pro-choice stance has earned her the support of some Maine Democrats over the years, but already funds are being created to give a future Democratic opponent a healthy start to unseat Collins.

The rush to donate to her Democratic opponent literally crashed the servers at one site:

Many are mocking her as “naive.”

Former Senior Advisor to President Barack Obama weighs in:

More outrage and promises to unseat Collins:

‘We Are Democracy’: Thousands Rally in Hundreds of Cities to #ProtectMueller and Warn Trump #NobodyIsAboveTheLaw

Across the country thousands right now are protesting President Trump’s firing of Jeff Sessions and his installation of Matthew Whitaker, an act prominent attorneys say is not only illegal, but unconstitutional.

MoveOn.org and Indivisible are among the groups protesting to demand Congress “Protect Mueller,” to allow the Special Counsel’s Russia probe be allowed to continue unimpeded in any manner. Whitaker has already said there was no collusion and has said Mueller has gone too far.

There are reportedly over 900 protests tonight.

Here are clips from Times Square:

“We are democracy,” says this activist in Times Square:

Indivisible says, “No one is above the law. Especially not the President.” Here are some of the protests in dozens (or hundreds) of cities Indivisible has organized. (Protests start at 5 PM local time, so most of these below are East Coast.)

Local Radio Station Mocks VP’s Visit by Holding ‘The Mike Pence Sausage Fest’

Kansas City, Missouri will probably be very busy Wednesday as Vice President Mike Pence flies into town to fundraise for anti-gay GOP Rep. Kevin Yoder. But the area will likely be busy for another reason, too.

Radio station 96.5 The Buzz, which calls itself “The Alternative,” is honoring the former Indiana governor’s trip to the Show Me State by holding a party mocking the very anti-LGBT Pence.

“Mike Pence is coming to Kansas City this Wednesday,” the station tweeted Monday. “Pence is no fan of the LGBTQ+ community, and we’re no fan of his. So we’re throwing The Mike Pence Sausage Fest across the street at Barney Allis Plaza starting at 11a. Stop by and get a free hot dog while we have them!”

Pence has a long history of holding anti-gay positions. He signed an anti-gay, pro-discrimination bill into law as governor, which damaged the state’s proud role as a major convention host. During his congressional campaign Pence stated he wanted taxpayer funds to be used for dangerous and harmful “conversion therapy.”

That decades-old position led Olympic skater Adam Rippon to remind America where its Vice President stands on LGBTQ issues – and Pence to engage in battle with the bronze-winning athlete.

96.5 The Buzz engaged a little Twitter battle of its own with a listener who had a beef about the sausage fest:

And the station has been only to happy to continue to mock Pence ahead of his visit:

But mostly the responses to the sausage fest have been like this:
