WHAT ARE REPUBLICANS TRYING TO HIDE?
‘Tainted Forever’: Chairman Refuses to Allow Any Democratic Senators’ Motions During Kavanaugh Hearing

Senate Judiciary Committee Chuck Grassley (R-IA) is refusing to allow any motions by Democratic Senators as the Supreme Court confirmation hearing of Brett Kavanaugh began. Seconds into the opening of the hearing Democrats made motions that the hearing be adjourned, and others asked for a vote on that motion. Still others asked for the committee to move into executive session to vote on the Senators’ motions. Sen. Grassley refused them all.
Democrats on the Committee, along with many Americans, are furious that Chairman Grassley, at the request of the White House, has blocked the release of hundreds of thousands of documents in Judge Kavanaugh’s record. They are also protesting the dump of 42,000 other documents late Monday night, which have not been reviewed by the Senators.
“The chairman has absolutely no right to override” the motions “by fiat,” Senator Blumenthal told Chairman Grassley. Blumenthal made the motion to adjourn, and Grassley has refused to consider it or allow a vote on it.
