Trump Declares War on the First Amendment and the Free Press – Claims Boston Globe Is ‘In Collusion’

Trump, Who Lies 4 Times a Day, Insists ‘Honesty Wins!’
President Donald Trump is furious that hundreds of newspapers across the nation banded together Thursday to publish editorials admonishing the President for his attacks on the free press.
Earlier Thursday morning Trump issued a statement attacking the media, which he opted to call “the opposition party,” instead of his usual “enemy of the people.”
Then, just after 10 AM ET Trump focused his attack on The Boston Globe, which originated and organized today’s editorial protests.
The Boston Globe, which was sold to the the Failing New York Times for 1.3 BILLION DOLLARS (plus 800 million dollars in losses & investment), or 2.1 BILLION DOLLARS, was then sold by the Times for 1 DOLLAR. Now the Globe is in COLLUSION with other papers on free press. PROVE IT!

Minutes later, he defended his war on the First Amendment, falsely claiming that “much” of what the media reports “is FAKE NEWS.”
There is nothing that I would want more for our Country than true FREEDOM OF THE PRESS. The fact is that the Press is FREE to write and say anything it wants, but much of what it says is FAKE NEWS, pushing a political agenda or just plain trying to hurt people. HONESTY WINS!

He ended his statement by saying, “Honesty wins!” Trump lies about four times a day, according to Daniel Dale of the Toronto Star, which tracks the president’s false claims:
Trump made 29 false claims in total last week, his lowest number in two months – he was on vacation and spoke very little. He’s up to 2,321 false claims for the first 570 days of his presidency, an average of 4.1 per day. https://t.co/tUlVsaIQoY

The Boston Globe’s Editorial Board published an editorial titled, “Journalists
Are Not The Enemy.” More than 350 papers across the country joined them today. The Globe has links to each paper’s response to Trump’s war on the free press.
