Rudy Giuliani Posts His First Tweet Since Trump Became President – and It’s as Idiotic as You’d Expect

For Starters, ‘Witchunt’ Is Not a Word

Rudy Giuliani posted a tweet at 12:44 AM Friday morning, just a few hours after the disastrous marathon Peter Strzok hearing. Giuliani, now President Donald Trump’s personal attorney (who has retained his international clients in what some see as a grotesque conflict of interest) reportedly is not being paid for his work. He began his stint as personal attorney to the president back in April, bragging he could get Mueller to wrap up his investigation into his client in “a week or two.”

Things are not going as planned.

On Thursday House Republicans for nearly 10 hours berated FBI agent Peter Strzok, the former Chief of the Bureau’s Counterespionage Section, who has been promoted and is now the Deputy Assistant Director of the Counterintelligence Division. It was not a smart move.

As GOP strategist and never-Trumper Rick Wilson wrote at The Daily Beast, “Republicans Thought Peter Strzok Would Be a Punching Bag. He Just Knocked Them Out.

So it was time for Giuliani to do what he does best: lie.

And so, with the President in the UK embarrassing America with an inexcusable interview given to a trash tabloid, while having to avoid the 50,000 protestors (and a flying Trump Baby balloon) in London, Giuliani, literally under cover of darkness, struck.

“Peter Strzok’s testimony was a disgrace,” Giuliani tweeted, his first tweet of the Trump presidency. He offered noting to support his claim.

“It taints the entire Mueller witchunt,” he continued (spelling error as written.) “President Trump is being investigated by people who possess pathological hatred for him,” he added, verifying what we all know but what Trump has repeatedly claimed is not true: the president is, in fact, under investigation.

“All the results of the investigation are ‘fruit of the poison tree’ and should be dismissed,” Giuliani claimed.

Legally, that’s just plainly false.

Even if it were true, a true patriot would want the truth: Did Russia influence the U.S. election? Is the president compromised? Who in his campaign – including his family members – worked directly or indirectly with Russia to steal the presidential election? Will Russia do it again? What can we do to prevent it from happening?

“Mayor” Rudy Giuliani (as his Twitter handle reads), loved being called “America’s Mayor” after 9/11 (New York City voters on 9/10 were sick to death of him and couldn’t wait for him to go, by the way,) but it’s odd that he still uses his former title. That is usually reserved for governors, presidents, senators, and diplomats – not mayors.

Meanwhile, many pounced on Giuliani’s lies.
