‘There’s a Special Place in Hell for Any Foreign Leader That Engages in Bad Faith Diplomacy With President Donald J. Trump’ Navarro Says, ‘And That Comes Right From Air Force One’
The Trump White House is doing what it does best: taking zero responsibility if things go wrong but total credit wherever it can be found. For example, Trump frequently uses the day he was elected, not the day he was sworn in to office, if it helps his numbers. On the other side of the coin, just Google “Trump blames” to see all those who are “responsible” for his failings.
White House officials are out in force Sunday, after Trump intentionally targeted Justin Trudeau in typical Trump fashion: bullying a top ally.
Trump Saturday evening called the Canadian Prime Minister “dishonest & weak,” and then announced he was rejecting the accords that all leaders at the G7 agreed to. That came after bullying Trudeau before the G7 in Quebec, which means Trump appears to have intentionally targeted Trudeau even before heading to Canada.
Targeted him for what?
Sunday morning President Trump’s top economic advisor, Larry Kudlow, actually took to CNN Sunday morning, claiming Prime Minister Trudeau had “stabbed” America “in the back.”
What horrific act of betrayal did Trudeau unleash?
“Canadians, we’re polite, we’re reasonable, but we also will not be pushed around,” Trudeau said, in response to weeks of attacks from Trump.
Later Sunday, another top White House official used the same language to try to pin the blame on Trudeau in case Trump fails at the North Korea talks.
(Talks for which he barely prepared. Talks for which he claimed he didn’t need to prepare for because he had been preparing for them his entire life.)
“There’s a special place in hell for any foreign leader that engages in bad faith diplomacy with President Donald J. Trump and then tries to stab him in the back on the way out the door,” White House trade advisor Peter Navarro said on Fox News Sunday. “And that’s what bad faith Justin Trudeau did with that stunt press conference.”
Note the typical Trumpian nickname, something Navarro clearly did not come up with and clearly did not do a good job of delivering.
And note that “stunt” is a current White House favorite word.
Indeed, Navarro even admitted he was just parroting off a statement Trump had dictated.
“That’s what weak, dishonest Justin Trudeau did, and that comes right from Air Force One,” Navarro told Fox News’ Chris Wallace.
“To my friends in Canada,”he added, “that was one of worst political miscalculations of a Canadian leader in modern Canadian history.”

If Trump’s talks with Kim Jong-un fail, he will blame Justin Trudeau, which makes no sense at all. If they succeed, he will take all the credit.
