In the week leading up to the the G-7 Summit President Trump engaged in the most Trumpian sort of diplomacy: he very publicly attacked out closest allies. That came after months of threatening, and then imposing sanctions on America’s top trading partners, like Canada.

Trump arrived late to the G-7, after letting it be known he had no desire to show up at all. And before arriving he let it be known he would be leaving early.

While at the Summit in Quebec, Canada, Trump blasted the foreign leaders who were there with him as they jointly were supposed to come up with new solutions and possibilities for trade. Joint ideas and compromises on trade and joint ideas and compromises to strengthen the bonds between the world’s top industrialized nations.

After President Trump left, from Air Force One, he rage-tweeted an attack on Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and announced the U.S. was revoking its agreement to accept the joint statement of the G-7 members.

After bashing Trudeau and the other attendees, President Trump’s top economic advisor actually took to CNN Sunday morning, claiming Prime Minister Trudeau “stabbed” America “in the back.”

“He was polarizing. He really kind of stabbed us in the back,” Kudlow, who literally at times was shaking with rage, said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

“He did a great disservice to the whole G-7.”

President Trump “is not going to let a Canadian Prime Minister push him around – push him, POTUS, President Trump, around – on the eve of this” North Korean Summit, Kudlow announced.

“He is not going to permit any show of weakness on the trip to negotiate with North Korea –” Kudlow added.

CNN’s Jake Tapper interjected: “So this was about North Korea?”

“Of course it was,” Kudlow condescendingly insisted.

And that’s when things went from bad to worse.

Kim Jong-un “must not see American weakness,” Kudlow said, shaking his jowls in a very Nixonian fashion.

Then he claimed Trudeau was “pouring collateral damage on this whole Korean trip.”

Kudlow also insisted that Trudeau’s remarks were designed to make America look weak as Trump flies to Singapore for his meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.

What did Trudeau say to warrant Kudlow’s claims?

“Canadians, we’re polite, we’re reasonable, but we also will not be pushed around,” Trudeau said at the G7.

“The president will continue to say what he says,” he said of Trump. “I have made it clear to the president that [imposing retaliatory tariffs] is not something we relish doing, but it’s something that we absolutely will do.”
