Philly Mayor Says Sarah Sanders ‘Lies From That Podium Every Day’ After She Attacks Eagles

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney is not putting up with what he calls Sarah Sanders‘ “lies.” The press secretary claimed 81 Eagles team members had RSVP’d by Friday, saying they would attend Tuesday’s White House celebration honoring their Super Bowl win. She claims by Monday “at the 11th hours” most of them had canceled in what she says was a “political stunt.”
“What do you think the percentage of the White House press corps who sits in that room every day listening to Sarah Sanders, what percentage do you think believe [she’s] telling the truth?” Kenney asked CNN’s Erin Burnett Tuesday evening.
“She lies from that podium every day, so I really have no reason to believe she’s telling the truth on that one,” he added.
“I think that this is all a stunt and I think that the president is playing the NFL like a fiddle and these players are caught in the middle,” Kenney charged.
“Not one Philadelphia Eagle took a knee last season, not one stayed in the locker room during the national anthem. He’s making it up as he goes along in an effort to divide this country more than he has already.”
