Even After Apology Laura Ingraham Is Still Losing Advertisers for Attacking David Hogg

The Internet never forgets and, at least for Laura Ingraham, the Internet never forgives – at least not for attacking a school mass shooting student survivor.

On Wednesday the Fox News and syndicated right wing radio host attacked Parkland, Florida’s David Hogg, one of the most well-known voices and faces of the #NeverAgain gun control movement.

Hogg had mentioned in an interview that despite his 4.1 or 4.2 GPA he was refused by four colleges. For Ingraham, that was grounds to attack.

Hogg quickly went into action, tweeting out her to 12 advertisers and asking those who support him to contact them. He didn’t directly call for a boycott, he didn’t get nasty, he just put the information out there.

By Thursday afternoon, the first advertiser announced they were pulling their ads from Ingraham’s show.

She took to Twitter to apologize, but did so she said only “in the spirit of Holy Week,” which apparently means if it weren’t she wouldn’t have. Which means she wasn’t really sorry.

And so advertisers continued to flee.

Hours later, at least seven of Ingraham’s top advertisers have pulled their support, and their ads, from her show:

Nestle
TripAdvisor
Nutrish
Expedia
Wayfair
Johnson & Johnson
Joseph A. Banks

Hogg says he’s not going to accept Ingraham’s apology: “I will only accept your apology only if you denounce the way your network has treated my friends and I in this fight.”
