Out of the Blue Trump Announces ‘Will Be Signing the Biggest Ever Tax Cut and Reform Bill in 30 Minutes’
What Political Savvy?
The GOP tax-cuts-for-the-rich bill includes cuts to Medicare effective in the year following its signing. The plan has always been President Trump would wait until the first days of January to sign the legislation to postpone those cuts until 2019. But the final bill includes a waiver, allowing Trump to sign it whenever he wants. Those cuts will go into effect until 2019 regardless.
In a clear sign of a man who has zero self control, President Donald Trump will not host a big signing ceremony as he has done for a myriad of even minor executive orders. Instead, he just announced via Twitter, “Will be signing the biggest ever Tax Cut and Reform Bill in 30 minutes in Oval Office.”
Will be signing the biggest ever Tax Cut and Reform Bill in 30 minutes in Oval Office. Will also be signing a much needed 4 billion dollar missile defense bill.

It is his only legislative achievement in his entire presidency (a terrible one, but an “achievement” all the same.) And he’s wasting the opportunity by rushing to sign the bill so he can feel good before leaving on vacation.
There’s not even a live feed posted to the White House website.
