Trump Lashes Out at NBA’s Stephen Curry – Invitation to White House ‘Is Withdrawn!’
12 Hours Earlier Trump Called NFL Quarterback Colin Kaepernick a ‘Son of a B*tch’
President Donald Trump took to Twitter Saturday morning to rescind a not even yet extended invitation to visit the White House to the NBA’s Stephen Curry. Curry is a guard for the championship Golden State Warriors, and a visit to the White House is a tradition.Â
“Going to the White House is considered a great honor for a championship team.Stephen Curry is hesitating, therefore invitation is withdrawn!” Trump tweeted early Saturday morning.
The President made the shocking and unprecedented statement just twelve hours after literally calling NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick a “son of a b*tch” for protesting racism and oppression of people of color by taking a knee instead of standing for the National Anthem.Â
“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now. Out. He’s fired!'” Trump asked at a campaign rally in Alabama Friday night.
President Trump was silent when NFL quarterback Tom Brady refused to visit the White House after winning the Super Bowl.
Over the past week, Trump has gone after ESPN reporter Jemele Hill – who called him a “white supremacist” – while his press secretary twice called for her to be fired. Now, he’s going after Kaepernick and Curry. Many on social media have noticed that they are all Black. Others have noticed Trump’s remarks are far stronger than when he “denounced” white supremacists in Charlottesville.
Here’s what some on Twitter are saying:
Trump has now attacked Jemele Hill, Colin Kaepernick, & Stephen Curry. All have something in common but I can’t quite put my finger on it.

When Steph Curry makes you angrier than Nazis, you might be Donald Trump. https://t.co/Bo9A4v8XdH

Trump a lot tougher on Colin Kaepernick than on Vladimir Putin. Protesting American anthem: bad. Subverting American democracy: no big deal.

7 NFL owners each gave Trump a million bucks. Jets owner Woody Johnson was one of them. Now he’s the US Ambassador to the United Kingdom. https://t.co/qASHpCfEuK

Trump attacking both Colin Kaepernick and Steph Curry in the past 24 hours is totally proving Jemele Hill right.
He is a white supremacist.

Now Trump has attacked Steph Curry?! In 1 week WH has attacked a Black reporter & 2 Black athletes. What did Jamele Hill call Trump again?

Tom Brady skipped Patriots trip to the WH. Trump said nothing. Trying to figure out the difference between Brady and Steph Curry… hmm…
