WATCH: New ‘House of Cards’ Promo Is A Chilling ‘Message From the Underwood Administration’
‘I’ve Been Meaning to Talk With You’
“House of Cards,” the addictive Netflix political drama that’s the very definition of binge-watchable, is back this month for its fifth season. In this new promo, First Lady and Vice Presidential nominee “Claire Underwood,” played flawlessly by Robin Wright, talks to the American people in a White House message that’s also part campaign ad – and totally chilling.
“It’s terrifying, isn’t it?” the First Lady asks, feigning empathy, looking directly into the camera.Â
“If anything in your environment strikes you as a bit odd, pick up the phone – whether it’s a package, or a person, that seems out of place,” she says, “We’d love you to let us know.”
She also, in a very Trumpian manner, takes a shot at the press.
Netflix teased the promo yesterday with this tweet:

The first trailer came out earlier this month, featuring President Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey), running for re-election, saying, “Underwood 2016. 2020. 2024. 2028. 2032. 2036. One nation, Underwood.”
